Festival footwear.

We trust if you live in Adelaide and/or enjoy the combination of music, fairy lights and creative energy then you’ll know that it is festival season in our wee little city of churches.

Where do you start?

Who do you see?

What do you do?

There’re late nights in The Garden of Unearthly Delights, many games of croquet at the Royal Croquet Club, the crown jewel that is Womadelaide as well as bars and restaurants filled with musos, comedians, improv theater and everything in between.

With so many decisions to make this Mad March, why not let us take care of the ever important footwear dilemmas? We’re ready to help and have some super jazzy styles to take you from the grassy knolls of the Garden to the rooftop bars of the night!

Yes, ok? You ready for our Mad March suggestions? Here we go then…

The Penny Loafer

Penny Loafers are a great slip on option for those sophisticated shows in the numerous marquees sprouting up in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. They’re perfect for the smart gals who like style to be easy and on trend, as well as super comfortable. Sunny afternoons spent rolling about on the lawns of the Botanic Gardens with a cheeky friend or wine (or both!), are made immeasurably better with a pair of these on your feet.

Great to wear with everything, from your summer frocks to your casual jeans!

Wedge Sandals

Perfect for those late night jaunts when you want to grab a drink or two after a show. You want a heel but also that absolute comfort that will take you places all night, and we’re not about to make you compromise. Our summer season wedges are not only on sale, but they’re that comfortable that you could wear them forever!

Wear with skirts and skinny jeans or cuffed boyfriend jeans- throw them on and you’re ready to roll!

A go-to enclosed shoe for those unexpected summer showers that pop up each year in Adelaide around Mad March! Wear with anything, as you would the Penny Loafer and Wedge Sandal.  Jump into your brogues for an edgy look – juxtapose sweet dresses and floaty shirts and tunics with the masculinity of the cherri bellini style brogues. Make a statement.

So if you’re feeling just a little bit ill prepared, think of cherri bellini when your feet start to get a little tired – we’ve got the lot! See you at the Garden.

So you have been told how classic ballet flats are and how they will merge perfectly with your wardrobe? But need a little help with how exactly to do that? Bring on cherri bellini’s guide to wearing ballet flats – and not looking plain!

Boyfriend jeans: A favourite at the moment for a reason, these comfy as jeans will work oh so well with the classic nature of the ballet flat. Et viola! Comfort and style!

With summer dresses:
A total no brainer! Ballet flats were made for summery dresses to finish off a ladylike outfit with class. If you go a patterned dress, keep it simple with a neutral ballet flat, or colour pop a pair against a white dress for an easy on trend spring look.

Maxi skirts: One of springs necessities, the maxi skirt is perfect for transitioning out of the cooler months (and hiding white legs), whilst giving your wardrobe a summer spin. The perfectly chic accompaniment to a billowing maxi is an elegant ballet flat – and if it gets a little warm during the day, knot one side of your maxi and show off your shoes!

skinny jeans: Can I hear you say “model off duty!”? One of the easiest on trend looks to pull off, just the lovely Miranda Kerr, at the moment is the effortless M.O.D look and all you need are your trusty ballet flats, skinny jeans and a bold scarf or top. You can work skinny jeans and ballet flats in any way you like to keep your wardrobe fresh and comfy – think t-shirts, plaid shirts, kaftans or leather biker jackets. Endless possibilities!

With shorts. Another spring staple (when we have been in the sun for a few days) is a pair of denim shorts. When it isn’t warm enough for sandals, or when an occasion calls for something a bit dressier than beach casual, team your ballet flats with denim shorts and an oversized t-shirt tucked into your belt. Easy, chic and super comfy.

Style tips for the Party Season!

We are in full silly season swing here at cherri bellini, and we can bet you are too! And we have just the shoes in store to get you though this busy, festive period in style.

Want to make the most out of a new pair of shoes, but not sure how? Check out our styling tips below on some of our favourite shoes, to see how you can take a shoe from day to night, event to drinks and corporate cool to daytime casual.

Happy holidays!

The Statement Stiletto

Talk about knock-out! Make the shoe the focus piece and keep accessories to a minimum. We love this heel with a shift dress and simple accessories for a dressy Christmas party or a night out. pink-shift Go for a more casual look (did somebody say drinks with the girls?) and pair with jeans and a silk shirt. And there you have it!jeans

The Bright Wedge

Take your wedge through its paces with an awesome race day appropriate outfit, or rock this pretty, slimline wedge with a floaty summer dress. Wedges are the easiest shoe to dress up and down – so have fun! Outdoor parties, ’tis the season, the wedge is the perfect way to get some height without sinking into the grass! Go for a a slim line wedge for a dressier look with the benefit of the comfort of the wedge.

Pair your wedge with a bright dress for the ultimate summer outfit which would work for coffee catch-ups, lunches and would look lovely for a Christmas day BBQ. Equally the slim line style and elegant look of this wedge dresses up perfectly with a long play-suit or dress and up-do for an outing like the the races or a chic summer party.polo

The Court Shoe

Heels don’t have to be sky high. There are some beautiful low heeled shoes available these days and if you aren’t comfortable in your shoes you won’t enjoy yourself! Stay low for understated sophistication for events like after work drinks or that dreaded ‘smart casual’ theme.

We love this tan court shoe paired back with a simple colour scheme like olive green, black and beige, but will work with so many different summer colours – think blues, pinks and of course white! Don’t feel like this shoe will only work for the corporate things hanging in your wardrobe either. For the very reason you love them for work (think comfort, style and easy to pair back with all your clothes) this little baby will rock an off-duty look too.

Top Shoe Trends for Spring/Summer

cherri bellini’s top shoe trends for Spring/Summer 13

Spring has sprung down here in the land of Aus, and with it comes the ever popular change from winter clothing the breezier, lighter and happier spring clothing. Although we here in Adelaide know that spring often has a few wintry surprises for us – that doesn’t stop us being forward thinking in our footwear! So what are the top shoe trends for this season to keep you looking totally fabulous and stylish? Read the list below!

Colour Pops – Keep your spring look fresh as a daisy with pops of bright colour or colour block the whole look with a bright shoe. Not sure how? You can either colour block with complimentary colours or contrasting. Take yellow for example – compliment it with orange and pink hues and contrast it with aqua and blue hues. If your still a bit bleary eyed from coming out of hibernation and the all over colour look isn’t your thing, try pairing a bright shoe back with white for a hint of colour. Here are a selection of our favourite colour pop shoes in store now!

Bold prints – Think bright, eye catching and floral. There is nothing new about floral prints in spring (come on – its when all the flowers start blooming!) but this season its big and bold, like on the catwalks of London Fashion Week. We love these floral print wedges! Throw them on with a summer hat and tunic dress or pair with a cool summer maxi for ultimate summer style.

70’s style – Wooden themes, clogs, platforms and studs: this is one boho vibe for Spring/Summer! Whether you chuck on a pair of platform wedges or work some studs into your flats, this trend is easy to pair with all your summer clothes. Think denim shorts, harem pants or maxi skirts. Leave your hair wavy and nonchalant to channel the screen sirens of the 70’s or chuck in a few braids to get the boho look flowing.

We here at cherri bellini can’t wait for the warm weather so we can rock these looks ASAP! Which look will you be trying? We might have to try all three… Get your shoe fix through our online store HERE or come in store at our Rundle Street boutique and have a play!

Adelaide Festival Season: WOMADelaide

WOMADelaide: 8th to 11th of March

Held over four days in the sunning Botanic Park, WOMAD (World Of Music, Arts and Dance) is a diverse international festival delivering world music, art, dance, food and culture to the city of Adelaide as WOMADelaide. Expect high calibre performances from all over the world and covering many different styles and genres.

The feeling is relaxing and carefree, with a real social atmosphere. Our tip is to pack a picnic for the day with a pop up shade (but don’t leave your valuables if you head off for show) and include warmer clothes for when it gets cooler in the evening. Have some snacks and drinks and you will be set (but no glass)!

Tribal Style

With all this in mind, dress comfortable. There will be many different styles and cultures on show – so be yourself! Something like a loose maxi will see you through day and night –  and amp up the festival style by adding tribal inspired accessories. We love these feathered sandals from Chocola!

Chocola feathered sandals

If your feeling balmy, how about a beautiful pair of sandals to pair with your cutest summer dress? These Keep sandals work with any outfit and are super comfortable…

Embrace the sunshine with bright colours and prints, and top it off with sturdy footwear like these Pascucci leather boots.

What to wear for the silly season

Everyone feels like a total social butterfly at this time of year. The invitations flow in, the weather means more outdoor soirees and well there are plenty of excuses to let our hair down and dress up! And we love to be the centre of attention, be it for our fabulous shoes, impeccable dress sense or perhaps that joke that we got from our dad (or maybe not). The one thing we don’t want attention for is for a dud outfit or the dreaded outfit repeat. *gasp*

The trick is dressing smart. Pick versatile pieces that can be easily transformed, say a dress that doubles as either a skirt or a top with some clever layering. This is the time to let your fashion taste shine – and literally too. Update any look with a bold statement necklace, a splash of sequins, a studded clutch and dramatic lipstick and glam your way though the office shindig, friends dinner and family lunch.

With your clothing set, you need to go for a shoe that will work hard for you, no matter the situation. Nude is the colour de jour for all this sparkle and shine, and the best thing is that it suits every outfit and will blend in with your skin tone and make your legs look super long! Here is our pick for the perfect nude shoe…

This is the best time of year for making statements – and the best way is with a beautiful stand out heel. Throw it on with a white dress, or even something else bright and enjoy the compliments rolling in. Here are our favourites, and maybe even an early Christmas present? ;)

Happy Holiday season everyone, and remember: the most beautiful thing you wear  is your smile, and a nice pair of shoes to put it there ;)

Love from the cherri girls x x
